Why I Love Ken Jennings

I Really Planned on “Hating” the Guy…

I’m sure I’m like millions of others who have mourned so many things in 2020, including the death of Alex Trebek. I remember getting the ability to actually “record” television shows, only because I didn’t want to miss one Jeopardy episode.

We were all saddened and devastated when we heard about him being sick and admired his strength and how he just kept on “keepin on!” He was truly a brilliant man and a kind human being.

Enter 2021 and here comes Ken..

I wasn’t going to judge the guy and I’ve never heard any evil stories about him but how could anyone replace Alex ?

On the first day I was mildly amazed and could feel his heart-felt respect and love for Alex. I gave him 5 stars for that.

The second day I felt the same but with an even deeper respect for this young genius who actually appeared very comfortable with his contestants, had a sharp “quick” humor about him and appeared genuine and spontaneous with his audience.

The third day I settled in and decided I really liked Ken Jennings. I tried to figure out why I liked him so much and what that trigger was for me. I realized he was not trying to be smug or smarter than anyone, although he is pretty dam smart but my “arrogance radar” never went off, even once. And as odd as it may sound, I feel close to Alex when I watch the episodes with Ken as the host. It might be like “being with your family” or something like that but I feel very comfortable now and I don’t cry every time I hear the Jeopardy intro music. Yah, I was attached.

I am eager to watch Ken Jennings daily to share his smart wit, love of the game and genuine true love for Alex.

Welcome aboard. I hope you are in it it for the long run!
